Urbas - Science Week of Jan 26 - 31

Students are starting on their Epicenter Project this week. They will be engineering and constructing a tower in the hopes of withstanding Mr. Urbas's famous Earthquake Machine. Lets put it this way, many try but few are successful in resisting the Machines 8 on the Richter Scale.

Look for some unstable moments this week.

Urbas - Science Week of Jan. 21 - 25

Students this week are continuing their investigation of Earthquakes and this week will examine Primary and Secondary waves and their relationship to how earthquakes are studied, charted, and their impact on society. The faults that cause them are broken.

Students will also begin their construction of a structure in hopes of withstanding Mr. Urbas's earthquake machine. Good luck.

Urbas Science Week of Jan. 14 - 18

Students are continuing their investigation of earthquakes and this week will look at the San Andreas Fault, the Richter Scale. They will also investigate how Scientists are able to interpret earthquake waves to determine the direction and distance an earthquake is from a reporting seismic station.

Urbas - Science Week of Jan. 7 - 11

Students are beginning their study of Earthquakes and will be reviewing the causes and effects of earthquakes and what the relationship between them is on the planet.
